Today I did nothing. Absolutely nothing, except a lovely drive to see the Palisades Reservoir. I love driving in that direction. The most amazing thing to see was that on the west side of the dam, spring has arrived. Green grass, flowing waters, dirt bikers, fisherman. On the east side, it was winter with the reservoir being covered in ice and the mountains still covered in snow. It made me wonder how a few feet could possibly make such a huge difference. We then went to Driggs where we ate at a place called Bangkok House. It was sooooo delicious. I can't wait to go again. It made my tummy very happy.

I DID IT! I completed an entire year of blogging daily (minus a few days in June when I totally forgot with wedding plans and cruise plans but added four days I to one post so technically I only missed three days of an entire year). This blog has helped me realize that joy comes when we are actively seeking it. Without that action, I wouldn’t have recognized all these little things that make me happy. Hopefully this is a lesson I will remember my entire life. I think this quote by Robert Louis Stevenson says it exactly right and is the perfect spot to end this year of joy seeking.

McKenna surprised us by visiting today. I may have gotten a little testy-eyed when I saw her car in the driveway when we came home from church. She would help me get the Christmas decorating finished. I’ve really struggled with that this year. She helped us all laugh and we loved visiting with her. I love my children. They are a great source of joy. Now I eagerly await her text saying she has made it home.
